Delta to add two new routes to Colombia

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) is adding two new Colombian routes from its Atlanta hub. Starting on December 19, per Airline Route, the carrier will launch a new route from Atlanta to Cartagena (three days a week with Boeing 737-800s) and Atlanta to Medellin (daily flights with Boeing 737-700s).

In addition, the airline is also commencing Boeing 717 service from Los Angeles to Sacramento on June 4.

Iberia to resume summer flights to Havana

Iberia (Madrid) is resuming summer seasonal service to Havana, Cuba with five weekly flights starting on June 1. The flag carrier will also operate three weekly flights on a Madrid – Medellin – Cali – Madrid routing commencing on July 3 per Airline Route. Both routes will operate with Airbus A330-300 equipment.

VivaColombia to fly internationally to Balboa, Panama

VivaColombia (Medellin) is launching its first international routes to Balboa, Panama. The low fare airline will start daily flights to the former Howard Air Force Base, now known as the Panama Pacific International Airport in Balboa, Panama (BLB) (near Panama City) on August 1 from both Bogota and Medellin.

VivaColombia is the first and only low-cost airline in Colombia. It started operations on May 25, 2012, from the Jose Maria Cordova Airport located in Rionegro, in the state of Antioquia.
