JetBlue Airways (New York-JFK) yesterday (October 1) launched a new Airbus A320 route linking the JFK hub with Bridgetown, Barbados.

In addition JetBlue and Lufthansa have started selling seats for their new code-share partnership which is due to start on November 11.

World Airways extends contract with Allied Air

World Airways (Atlanta) has extended its contract with Allied Air Cargo (Lagos) to operate a McDonnell Douglas MD-11F freighter now through December 2011. The MD-11F operates on a cargo route from Ostend to Lagos onward to Nairobi and then return for Allied. Allied currently operates four Boeing 727-200F freighters. The contract started on October 1, 2008.

US Helicopter (New York) on March 27 resumed helicopter service from the downtown Manhattan heliport to both JFK and Newark airports.

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) following American Airlines, will put its first Boeing 767-332 ER (N1610D, msn 30594) with Aviation Partners Boeing Blended Winglets into revenue service in the near future.
