Okay Airways finalizes its order for five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners

Okay Airways (OKAir) and Boeing have finalized an order for five 787-9 Dreamliners for $1.4 billion, according to an announcement by Boeing.

Previously in June 2017 at the Paris Airshow, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for five 787-9 Dreamliners as part of its long-term fleet strategy and expansion.

Okay Airways is headquartered in Beijing with its main hub at Tianjin Binhai International Airport. Its all-Boeing jetliner fleet includes 17 Boeing 737-800s, four Boeing 737-900ERs and one Boeing 737-300 Freighter, which serves more than 50 domestic and regional destinations.

Okay Airways orders 15 Boeing MAX airliners and signs a MOU for 5 787-9 Dreamliners

Boeing and Okay Airways (OKAir) have announced an order for 15 737 MAX airplanes, valued at $1.8 billion at the current list prices.

The order consists of eight 737 MAX 10s and seven 737 MAX 8s. Okay Airways becomes one of the launch customers of the 737 MAX 10, the newest member of the MAX family.

The airline also signed a memorandum of understanding for five 787-9 Dreamliners as part of its long-term fleet strategy and expansion.

Okay Airways takes delivery of its first Boeing 737-900 ER

Okay Airways (OKAir) (Tianjin) and Boeing (Chicago, Seattle and Charleston) yesterday (January 30) celebrated the delivery of the carrier’s first Next-Generation 737-900 ER (Extended Range). The delivery marks the first 737-900 ER to be delivered to a Chinese customer and is the first of eight 737-900 ERs that Okay Airways has on order.

The addition of the 737-900 ER airplanes will join the existing fleet of 737-800 airplanes.

Okay Airways’ new 737-900 ER is configured with 200 seats in a one-class layout. It will feature Boeing’s Sky Interior.

Okay Airways, the first privately owned airline in China, is headquartered in Beijing with its main hub at Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN). Its jetliner fleet includes 13 Boeing 737-800s and one Boeing 737-300 Freighter, which serves more than 100 domestic and international routes.

Okay Airways (OKAir) orders six Boeing 737 MAX 8s and four 737-800s, will also operate the 737-900ER

Boeing (Chicago and Seattle) and Okay Airways (stylized as OKAir) (Tianjin) announced an order today for six 737 MAX 8s and four Next-Generation 737-800s, valued at $980 million at current list prices.

Okay Airways, the first privately owned airline in China, also announced it will convert five 737-800s from a previous order into 737-900 ERs (Extended Range). With today’s conversion announcement, Okay Airways will be the first airline in China to operate the 737-900 ER and has eight of the airplanes on order.

Okay Airways is headquartered in Beijing with its main hub at Tianjin Binhai International Airport. Its jetliner fleet includes 12 Boeing 737-800s and one Boeing 737-300 Freighter, which serves 40 domestic destinations.

ILFC delivers a new Boeing 737-800 to Okay Airways

International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) (Los Angeles), a wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), has announced the delivery of a new Boeing 737-800 to Okay Airways Company Limited (Okay Airways) (OKAir) (Tianjin), which will allow the airline to expand services to meet the growing demand within its flight route network.

The newly-delivered Boeing 737-8Q8 B-5841 (msn 41789) is powered by two CFM 56-7B26E engines and will operate on the airline’s routes linking Tianjin with other major cities in China.

In other news, ILFC has announced today that it has finalized an order for the purchase of 50 E-Jets E2 aircraft from Embraer, including 25 E190-E2 and 25 E195-E2. The order also includes options for an additional 50 aircraft.

Okay Airways takes delivery of two Xian MA60 turboprops

OKAir (Okay Airways) has taken delivery of its first two Xian MA60 turboprops according to a statement by the airline and the manufacturer.

The Xian MA60 (“Modern Ark 60”) is a turboprop-powered airliner made by China’s Xi’an Aircraft Industrial Corporation under the China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I). The MA60 is a stretched version of the Xian Y7-200A. The Xian Y7-200 was produced based on the An-24 to operate in rugged conditions with limited ground support and has short take-off and landing (STOL) capability.

The airplane received its type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in June 2000. The first aircraft was delivered to Sichuan Airlines in August 2000. The MA60 has not been type certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

OKAir changes its livery to orange, white and blue

OKAir (Okay Airways) (Tianjin) has switched its color scheme to this new orange, white and blue combination.

Okay Airways orders 10 Boeing 737-800s

Okay Airways (OKAir.net) (Tianjin) has placed an order for 10 Boeing 737-800s. The order was previously recorded as an unidentified customer.

The private airline currently operates three 737-800s and one 737-300 converted freighter, on trunk routes with direct flights to more than 20 domestic destinations.

Okay Airways also will lease four 737-800s this year, and plans to expand its fleet by leasing five 737-800s each year prior to the new delivery.
