Orbest Orizonia Airlines (formerly Iberworld Airlines) (Palma de Mallorca) and Iberia (Madrid)ย have signed a contract for the maintenanceย of Orbest’s Airbus A320s and A330s. Orbest is a unit of the Orizonia Holiday Group.

Bmibaby (bmibaby.com) (East Midlands) is going out of business. The last flights will be operated on September 9. To avoid a drop off of passengers at the end, the carrier is advising its customers to fly out on the airline and has given them guidance on who to fly home after September 9.

“Tiny” will soon be enjoying retirement. For now he is encouraging customers to continue flying on the airline.

AirEuropa (Palma de Mallorca and Madrid) will add the Madrid-Brussels route on December 3. The new route will be operated twice-daily with Embraer ERJ 195s according to Airline Route.

EasyJet (UK) (easyJet.com) (London-Luton) is honoring the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and Willy Brandt (1913-1992) with this special decal on its Airbus A319-111 G-EZEZ (msn 2360). The decals were added in April 2012 but the airport opening has been delayed until next year as reported.
According to Wikipedia, Willy Brandt leader of the Germanย Social Democratic Party of Germanyย (Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands, or SPD) from 1964 to 1987, andย chancellorย of theย Federal Republic of Germanyย from 1969 to 1974. Willy was awarded theย Nobel Prize for Peaceย in 1971 for his efforts to achieve reconciliation betweenย West Germanyย and the countries of theย Soviet bloc.
As we have reported, the new Berlin Airport has been delayed in its opening. Theย Berlin Brandenburg Airport,ย formally known asย Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt,ย is the newย international airportย for Berlin currently under construction 11ย miles south of Berlin,ย near the currentย Schรถnefeld Airport in the former East Berlin. BER is now scheduled to open onย March 17, 2013. When BER opens, Berlinย Schรถnefeldย Airport (SXF) will close.

AirEuropa (Palma de Mallorca) is promoting the Ushuaia beach club on the east coast of Ibiza, Spain with this new logojet. Oddly the beach club is named after the southern most city in Argentina, usually a very cold location in the Patagonia.

TAAG-Angola Airlines Boeing 777-2M2 ER D2-TEF (msn 34567) LIS (Pedro Baptista), originally uploaded by Airliners Gallery.
TAAG Linhas Aereas de Angola (Angola Airlines) (Luanda) has ordered two 777-300 ERs (Extended Range) in a deal that also includes purchase rights for two additional 777-300 ER jetliners.
TAAG, the flag carrier for Angola, will use the airplanes for route expansion to additional European destinations. TAAG currently flies Boeing 777-200 ERs (Extended Range) 10 times weekly from Luanda, Angola, to Lisbon, twice weekly to Beijing via Dubai and four times weekly to Rio de Janeiro.

Bangladesh Airlines (Dhaka) has introduced a new color scheme which eliminates the traditional Biman name. This Boeing 777-212 ER is the first Triple Seven for the company. A Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A310-300 has also been painted in the new livery.

EuroAtlantic Airways (Lisbon) on October 15, 2009 added ex-STP Airways Boeing 767-3Y0 ER and re-registered the aircraft as CS-TFT (msn 26208, ex S9-DBY). The airliner was recently operated for Med-View Airline (Kano) for the 2009 Hajj pilgrimage season.
