easyJet orders an additional 36 Airbus A320 family aircraft, total now 451

easyJet (UK) has signed a firm order for a further 36 Airbus A320 Family aircraft taking its cumulative order for the type to 451. The agreement for six A320ceo and 30 A320neo makes easyJet one of the worldโ€™s biggest airline customers for the A320ceo Family with 321 ordered and also for the A320neo with 130 on order.

In the year that easyJet celebrates its 20th anniversary, earlier in April 2015, the airline took delivery of its 250th A320 aircraft. As with other recent deliveries to easyJet, the A320 is equipped with the latest technology and fuel-saving Sharklets.

The airline flies on more than 750 routes to over 130 airports across 31 countries.
easyJet operates Europeโ€™s largest and the worldโ€™s fourth largest Airbus single aisle fleet. Since easyJet took delivery of its first Airbus aircraft (an A319) in September 2003, Airbus has delivered an aircraft on average every 16 days to easyJet since the first delivery.

Air Canada Jetz to fly for six NHL teams next season

Air Canada (Montreal) has announced a new six-year agreements with six of Canada’s professional teams for air transportation through Air Canada Jetz, its in-house, all-Premium Class charter service operated by mainline Air Canada pilots and flight attendants.

The six-year agreements begin at the start of the 2015-16 season and cover the Montreal Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Winnipeg Jets, the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks.

The service will be operated by Jetz, Air Canada’s in-house charter carrier, which uses Airbus A319 aircraft (above) outfitted with 58-Premium Class seats (below) to offer extra legroom and a private jet-like experience.

In addition to the six Canadian teams, Jetz also provides air transport services to the Colorado Avalanche.

EasyJet to fly from London Gatwick to Jersey

EasyJet (easyJet.com) (UK) (London-Luton) announced today it is increasing its Jersey, Channel Islands network with the introduction of a year-round service to and from London (Gatwick).

From March 30, 2014 easyJet will operate three flights per day between Jersey and London Gatwick offering the choice of a morning, afternoon and evening departure in each direction. The new service will go on sale in September 2013 and means easyJet now connect Jersey with five UK airports โ€“ London Gatwick, Southend, Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow.

The announcement follows a deal secured by easyJet earlier this year to purchase 25 additional slots at Gatwick Airport from Flybe. Since this time, the airline has worked closely with the route development team at Jersey Airport to expand its operation in the Island and enhance connections to London Gatwick. The new flight will be operated by an Airbus A319 aircraft with the capacity of 156 seats.

Provisional schedule for summer 2014 โ€“ timings to be confirmed in September.

The introduction of a London Gatwick service brings the total number of routes the airline serves from Jersey to five. In addition to its exiting year-round services to Liverpool, Glasgow and London (Southend), the airline also introduced a summer service to Newcastle earlier this year.

Frontier to suspend the Denver-Rockford route on September 7

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) will suspend the Denver-Rockford, IL (near Chicago) route on September 7 per Airline Route. The route is currently being flown three days a week with Airbus A319s.

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) today returns nonstop service between its Denver, Colorado (DEN), hub and both Harrisburg, PA (MDT) and Knoxville, TN (TYS). Both routes will operate seasonally with three weekly nonstop flights.

Frontier Airlines to end Denver-Grand Rapids flights on September 8

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) is planning to end nonstop daily Denver-Grand Rapids flights after the coming summer on September 8, 2013 per Airline Route. The route is currently operated year-round with Airbus A319s.

Armavia suspends operations, will file for bankruptcy

Armavia Air Company (Yerevan, Armenia) suspended all operations yesterday (March 29) and plans to filed for bankruptcy on Monday (April 1) according to local reports. The company was previously planning to operate through tomorrow but this has changed. No flights are operating today.

At the end, the flag carrier was operating one Airbus A320, three Boeing 737-500s and three Bombardier CRJ200s. One Airbus A319 was operated for the government of Armenia.

Armavia Air company LLC was established in December 12, 1996 and had been struggling financially.

EasyJet to fly to Norway

EasyJet (UK) (easyJet.com)ย (London-Luton) hasย announced the launch of its first ever services from London Gatwick to Bergen – also known as the “Gateway to the Fjords” in Norway. The new route will commence on May 20, 2013.

Norway will be the 33rd country easyJet flies to with the airline expecting to carry more than 100,000 passengers between Norway and the UK annually.

Frontier announces new seasonal service from Denver to both Fresno and Eugene

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) announced today that it is launching new seasonal service from its Denver, Colorado (DEN) hub to Eugene, Oregon (EUG) starting on May 16, 2013, and resuming year-round service from Denver (DEN) to Fresno, California (FAT) starting on May 17, 2013.

EasyJet adds three new routes from London Stansted

EasyJet (easyJet.com) (UK) (London-Luton), the UKโ€™s largest airline, will mark the inaugural flights of its three latest routes from London Stansted Airport to Marrakech, Sofia and Sharm El Sheikh this weekend. The three new routes which take off for the first time on February 15, 16 and 17 respectively will see almost 3,000 passengers travelling to these new easyJet destinations during this half-term period alone and an additional 100,000 affordable seats available from London Stansted per year.
