Emirates resumes its operations to Zagreb for the summer

Emirates has resumed its operations to Zagreb for summer, serving the route until October 26, 2019. Its partner airline, flydubai will then begin to operate during the winter season. The strategic partnership between both airlines ensures capacity is deployed to best serve customer demand.

Flight EK 129 will depart Dubai at 8:30 am and arrive in Zagreb at 12:35 pm local time, utilizing a Boeing 777-300ER. The return flight, EK 130 will depart Zagreb at 15:25 pm and arrive in Dubai at 23:00 pm local time.

Due to the planned upgrade works on the southern runway at DXB, from April 16 until May 30, 2019, Emiratesโ€™ flights to Zagreb will operate as four times weekly on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. From May 31, 2019 onwards, the route will be operated as a daily service.

Known for its impressive 18th century architecture, Zagreb is a city with extremely rich history and culture. Located in the northwest of the country โ€“ visitors can discover the upper and lower town areas that hold some of the worldโ€™s most iconic cathedrals and museums. Visitors interested in touring the cityโ€™s historic ruins will be awed by the Zagreb Cathedral and 13th century St. Mark Church. Stroll down to Tkalฤiฤ‡eva Street and experience the finest restaurants and trendiest cafes. Head over to the lower town area to visit the main square, Ban Jelaฤiฤ‡, or spend a sunny afternoon discovering the cityโ€™s beautiful landscape of hilly mountains and national parks.

LOT Polish Airlines to launch flights to Tokyo, will restore four routes

LOT Polish Airlines (Warsaw) has announced it will launch nonstop Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flights from Warsaw to Tokyo (Narita) starting on January 13, 2016. The new route will operate three days a week.

In other news, according to Airline Route, the carrier will restore four routes toย Belgrade, Chisinau, Yerevan and Zagreb in early January. These four routes were due to be dropped on July 1.

SkyGreece Airlines to connect Toronto and Zagreb this summer

SkyGreece Airlines (Athens) has announced it will start weekly seasonal operations between Toronto (Pearson) andย Zagreb, Croatia onย June 22, 2015 with its 274-seat Boeing 767-300 ERs. The flights will operate until October 15.

Brussels Airlines to add Bordeaux and Zagreb

Brussels Airlines (Brussels) will launch a new service to Bordeaux on March 29, 2015. Bordeaux is the twelfth destination of Brussels Airlines in France.

Brussels Airlines will fly to Bordeaux four times a week during the entire summer season which starts at the end of March and lasts till the end of October. All flights are operated with Airbus A319 aircraft and the flight time is 1 hour 35 minutes.

Brussels Airlines has also announced flights to a second Croatian destination: Zagreb. On October 24, 2014 Brussels Airlines already announced six new European destinations for the 2015 summer season: Dubrovnik, Calvi, Lourdes, Olbia, Billund and St. Petersburg.

Starting on September 20, 2015, Brussels Airlines will operate six flights per week between Brussels and Zagreb, in the afternoon.ย Zagreb is the 18th European capital that Brussels Airlines connects to Brussels, and the third capital in Eastern Europe, next to Warsaw and Riga.

EuroLOT to start four new routes from Warsaw

EuroLOT (eurolot.com) (Warsaw) will start four new routes from Warsaw on October 26; Chisinau, Cluj/Napoca (October 27), Stuttgart and Zagreb per Airline Route.

Dalmatian will not fly, stops trading and issues refunds

Dalmatian (Zagreb) will not fly. The would-be airline, which planned to launch operations on June 30 as we previously reported between Zagreb and Sofia, has stopped selling tickets and is issuing refunds. The start-up stopped all business after a major investor pulled out.

The airline issued this statement:

Dear Customers,

It is with great regret that Dalmatian has made the decision to stop selling its tickets due to one of its investors leaving the company. This departure has affected our ability to provide you, the customer the proper support and services to launch Dalmatian and unfortunately, we do not expect this issue to be rectified in the short term. We have therefore made this decision now to safeguard our customerโ€™s interests.

As such, we have notified our bank (PBZ) to issue FULL REFUNDS to all passengers who have purchased a flight ticket with Dalmatian, to be effective immediately. Our bank has processed the refunds today and customers can expect their refunds to be deposited on their credit card account with which they made their original purchase.

We, at Dalmatian, must sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused you.

 

Dalmatian is planning to launch operations on June 30

Dalmatian (Zagreb) is a new airline in Croatia. The new carrier will launch operations on ย June 30 with services to Hamburg, Rome, Stuttgart and Zurich. This will be followed by Dusseldorf, Geneva, Milan, Prague, Sofia and Warsaw on the following day of July 1. Dalmatian will also operate weekly seasonal flights to Larnaca, Cyprus from July 26 to October 1. The carrier is expected to utilize Airbus A320s.

The airline describes itself as a “new breed of hybrid low cost/low fare airline concept founded to pursue the growth opportunities in emerging markets of short and long distance air travelโ€.

Iberia resumes summer services to Croatia

Iberia (Madrid) resumed its summer services to Croatia on June 9 with a Madrid-Dubrovnik flight, which will operate Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays until September 29.

Flights to the Croatian capital of Zagreb, will be resumed on Saturday, June 14. Airbus A320-family aircraft with 172 seats will be used on the Saturday and Sunday return flights from Madrid.

On July 19 Iberiaโ€™s franchise partner Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum will resume thrice-weekly services to the Croatian city of Split, flying Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until August 30.

Qatar Airways to fly nonstop to Zagreb, Doha-London A380 service to start on July 1

Qatar Airways (Doha) has announced that commencing on October 1, 2014, the airline will offer nonstop flights from Doha to Zagreb three times weekly. The new direct flights will provide a more convenient alternative to the current daily flights to Zagreb which fly via Budapest before moving onwards to the Croatian capital.

From October 1, passengers will be able to fly daily directly to Budapest, four times a week to Zagreb via Budapest on a linked flight, and three times a week directly to Zagreb on the delinked flight.

The new route schedule will increase seats to 240 Business Class and 2,640 Economy Class per week, an increase of 72 and 384 seats respectively. The airline will continue to fly the Airbus A320 aircraft direct to and from Zagreb. With its two-cabin configuration, comprising of 12 seats in Business Class and 132 Economy Class seats

In other news, Qatar Airways has delayed its planned Airbus A380 inaugural service on the Doha โ€“ London (Heathrow) route to July 1 instead of June 17 according to Airline Route.

Air Croatia to launch operations on June 14

Air Croatia (Zagreb) will launch weekly operations on June 14 between Gothenburg and Zagreb and also between Gothenburg and Split. Czech Airlines will wet lease an Airbus A319 to the new carrier for both routes.
