LOT Polish Airlines (Warsaw) will be able to start flying the Warsaw-Tokyo (Narita) route starting in March 2010 when additional slots become available.

LOT Polish Airlines (Warsaw) has introduced a new logojet to promote tourism to Krakow and the surrounding Malopolska (Lesser Poland) region. Lesser Polandย (also known as “Little Poland”, or Malopolska in Polish)ย is one of the historical regions of the country. The region forms the southeastern corner of Poland.

Kingfisher Airlines has returned 19 leased aircraft

Kingfisher Airlines (Bangalore and Mumbai) has already returned 19 leased aircraft (16 Airbus aircraft and three ATRs) in 10 months due its downsizing and losses.

Uzbekistan Airways (Tashkent) is adjusting its schedules for the winter starting on October 25 including new service to Birmingham (UK) starting on December 1.

Grupo TACA (TACA International) (Transportes Aereos del Continente Americano) (San Salvador) and Avianca (Aerovias del Continente Americano) (Bogota) and all of the subsidiary airlines within the two groups will be merged into one single holding company. The Avianca owners (National Federation of Colombia Coffee Growers and the Synergy Group) will control two-thirds of the new holding company. The Grupo TACA owners will control the remaining one-third of the shares of the new holding company. All airlines will retain their independent brands (however Avianca was consolidating its brands) but each will become subsidiaries of the new holding company.

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta), union free for 80 years, with the acquisition of Northwest Airlines, is flying into an “union storm”, according to TheStreet.com. Delta is hoping it can ward off the coming unionization efforts.
