Frontier Airlines announces 10 new routes

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) today announced it will expand its network with 10 new routes to warm and sunny destinations from Trenton, Washington, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Atlanta and Denver.

Following is the schedule for Frontierโ€™s new nonstop service:

Denver-West Palm Beach (starts October 26) (4 days a week) A319

Washington (Dulles) โ€“ Cancun (starts November 22) (weekly) A320

Frontier Airlines pilot sets the bar for tarmac delays; orders pizza for everyone!

Frontier Airlines’ (2nd) (Denver) captain Gerhard Bradner is a hero to everyone on board a weather delayed Airbus A320. Flight 719 was bound from Washington (Reagan National) to the Denver hub on Monday night when heavy thunderstorms in the Denver area diverted the flight to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Once on the ground the captain took the matter in his own hands and personally ordered 50 pizzas for its hungry passengers. The captain has now established a new standard for stranded flights. Well done Captain Bradner.

United to start nonstop Denver-Panama City, Panama flights on December 3

United Airlines (Chicago) will start a new international route from its Denver hub to Panama City, Panama on December 3. The new route will be operated daily with Boeing 737-700s per Airline Route.

United to connect the oil patch of Williston, North Dakota to Houston starting on August 19

United Airlines (Chicago) will start nonstopย United Express service from its Houston (Bush Intercontinental) to the oil patch area at Williston in the western part of North Dakota starting on August 19. The new route will be operated by ExpressJet Airlines (Atlanta) and was announced by Senator John Hoeven of North Dakota. ExpressJet already flies the Williston-Denver route for United Airlines (see the map below).

Additionally, United will also commence nonstop United Express service from its Denver hub to Lafayette, Indiana also starting on August 19 per Airline Route.

The carrier will start daily nonstop Houston (Bush Intercontinental)-Hartford/Springfield Embraer 175 flights starting on October 15.

Frontier Airlines launches the Bakersfield-Denver route

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) yesterday (May 16) launched nonstop service from Bakersfield, California (BFL) to its hub in Denver, Colorado.

The service will operate on 138-seat Airbus A319 aircraft.

United to start nonstop Denver-Panama City, Panama flights on December 3

United Airlines (Chicago) today announced that it will introduce nonstop flights between its hub at Denver International Airport and Panama City beginning on December 3, subject to government approval with flights available for sale at a later date. The new service will operate daily November through August and five times weekly in September and October, offering Denver-area travelers direct access to the Panamanian capital and connections to several additional cities in Central and South America through United’s strategic partnership with Copa Airlines.

United will operate the service with Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 118 seats โ€“ 12 in United Business and 106 in United Economy, including 40 Economy Plus extra-legroom seats.

United Airlines is Denver’s largest airline, offering more flights and more seats from the Mile High City to more destinations around the world than any other carrier. The airline offers more than 375 flights each day from Denver International Airport to more than 10 destinations in Latin America, Canada and Asia โ€“ as well as service to top business centers in North America.

SkyWest Airlines to operate United Express flights from the Denver hub to Hays, Kansas starting on August 1

 

SkyWest Airlines (United Express) (St. George, Utah) will start a new route for United Airlines.ย The first United Express flight, operated by SkyWest Airlines, from Hays, Kansas to Denver is scheduled to take off beginning on August 1, 2014.

The Hays flights will operate using 50-seat Bombardier-manufactured CRJ200 regional jet aircraft.

Delta’s flight 1500 lands safely in Denver after a false bomb threat

Delta Air Lines‘ (Atlanta) flight DL 1500 from Detroit to Denver landed safely last night (April 18) after a flight attendant found a note in the rear galley threatening a bomb was on board. The Boeing 737-832 (N3750D, msn 32375) with 151 passengers and four crew members landed safely. There was no bomb on board.

SkyWest Airlines to add two new United Express destinations in North Dakota

SkyWest Airlines (St. George, Utah) has announced new United Express jet service from Jamestown and Devils Lake Regional Airports to the Denver hub.

Beginning June 5, 2014, there will be 11 roundtrip flights each week from both Jamestown and Devils Lake to Denver, including both nonstop and one-stop trips. Every flight is timed to provide extensive connection opportunities on hundreds of daily United Airlines flights in Denver.

The new serviceย from Jamestown and Devils Lake will be operated with 50-passenger Bombardier-manufactured Canadair Regional Jet 200s (CRJ200s).

Frontier to launch six new routes from Denver and Chicago Midway

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) is launching six new routes from Denver and Chicago (Midway) which suggest the continuation of a new strategy under its new owners. The airline has been carefully adding new routes to markets that are under served. Will we be seeing new further new routes from MDW, a hub of Southwest? The airline issued this statement:

To celebrate its 20thย anniversary this summer, Frontier Airlines has announced that it is launching six new routes. Beginning May 16, 2014, Frontier will offer nonstop service from its primary hub in Denver, Colorado to Bakersfield, California (BFL). Beginning June 12, 2014, Frontier will offer year-round nonstop service from Denver to Missoula, Montana (MSO), Idaho Falls, Idaho (IDA), and Sioux City, Iowa (SUX), and seasonal service from Chicago-Midway, Ill. (MDW) to both Knoxville, Tennessee (TYS) and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (MDT).

Frequencies for a number of existing routes from Denver have also been increased. Branson (BKG), Bozeman (BZN), Durango (DRO) and Memphis (MEM) will be served daily. Atlanta (ATL), Cincinnati (CVG), Cleveland (CLE) and Detroit (DTW) will see service increased from daily to 11-14 flights/week.

In addition, flight times on many routes have been adjusted to give customers more choice on flight departure times throughout each day.
