Allegiant announces 14 new routes and five new cities

Allegiant Air (Las Vegas) today announced new, nonstop jet service on 14 routes, including the addition of five new cities, to the Allegiant network. Allegiant will now offer service to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Indianapolis, Indiana, Omaha, Nebraska, Richmond, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida.

New routes announced include:

WestJet today launches seasonal Winnipeg-Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood flights

WestJet (Calgary) today launched new weekly, seasonal, nonstop service between Winnipeg and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, Florida. Flights out of the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson Airport operate every Saturday until April 25, 2015.

JetBlue Airways today adds four new routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

JetBlue Airways (New York) today (October 29) expands its destination offerings at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) with the addition of four new routes. The new flights include daily service to Cartagena, Colombia; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; as well as a twice daily service to Jacksonville, Florida.

By 2017, JetBlue plans to offer 100 daily flights out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood to meet increasing customer demand. In May of this year, JetBlue added flights from FLL to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

JetBlue currently offers up to 75 daily flights to 33 destinations from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood.

Volaris is coming to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood from Mexico City and Guadalajara

Volaris (Mexico City) has announced the launch of two new routes to connect Mexico City and Guadalajara with Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Mexico City flights will start operating on December 1 and Guadalajara flights on December 4. Mexico City flights will operate four days a week and Guadalajara flights two days a week. FLL is the second destination in Florida after Orlando. FLL will serve the Miami area (see map below).

The carrier is also adding the following routes this winter:

Morelia-Oakland (twice-weekly, effective November 3)

Guadalajara-Orlando (twice-weekly, effective November 17)

Guadalajara-Chicago (O’Hare) (twice-weekly, effective November 19)

Cancun-Las Vegas (twice-weekly, effective December 18)

Allegiant starts Cincinnati-Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood flights

Allegiant Air (Las Vegas) yesterday (October 9) started nonstop service between Cincinnati and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood.

The new flights will operate four times weekly from the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood begins the latest flight expansion by Allegiant at CVG announced in the summer. In November, Allegiant will begin nonstop flights to Mesa (near Phoenix), followed by Las Vegas in December, bringing the company’s total weekly flights to 20 before the end of the year.

Virgin America announces two new seasonal routes to Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas

Virgin America (San Francisco) today announced two new seasonal routes – daily nonstop service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and four times weekly service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS).

Additionally, the airline announced today that it will operate two extra roundtrip frequencies weekly between Las Vegas-New York (JFK) over winter and early spring to bring weekly frequencies on this popular route from the current seven to nine.

Virgin America’s 2014-2015 new seasonal services are as follows:

December 18, 2014 – April 28, 2015

JFK- FLL: depart 8:00am and arrive 11:05am daily.
FLL- JFK: depart 9:15am and arrive 11:55am daily.

January 8, 2015 – April 28, 2015

BOS-LAS: depart 10:30am and arrive 1:40pm on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
LAS-BOS: depart 2:50pm and arrive 10:40pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
LAS-BOS: depart at 3:35pm and arrive 11:25pm on Thursday.

January 5, 2015 – April 28, 2015*

JFK-LAS: depart at 11:35am and arrive 2:35pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
LAS-JFK: depart at 3:10pm and arrive at 11:00pm on Monday.
LAS-JFK: depart at 3:35pm and arrive at 11:25pm on Wednesday.

Virgin America:

Spirit Airlines is coming to Cleveland starting on January 15

Spirit Airlines (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood) has announced Cleveland will be the 57th city to join its expanding route network, with new service to eight cities. Service starts on January 15, 2015 to three cities, with three more starting February 5, 2015, and two more on April 16, 2015.

Expanding Route Map:

TAME is coming to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood starting on October 17

TAME (Transportes Aereos Militares Ecuatorianos) (Linea Aerea del Ecuador) (Quito) which used to operate cargo flights to Miami in the past, is returning to South Florida. TAME will launch daily Quito-Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood passenger flights with Airbus A319s/A320s starting on October 17 per Airline Route. The daily flight will arrive at FLL at 0730 and depart at 0900 (local times).

In other news, TAME is also shifting its route to New York (JFK) from Guayaquil-New York to Quito-New York on October 20 per Airline Route. Quito will now become the jumping off point to both South Florida and New York.

Frontier Airlines to expand in Cincinnati with five new destinations

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) has announced it will expand its low fare service in the Cincinnati market to nine nonstop routes with the addition of five new destinations— Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas; Orlando, Florida; and Las Vegas, Nevada beginning on October 26 and Phoenix, Arizona and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, Florida beginning on October 28.

Frontier Airlines will offer nine nonstop destinations from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Frontier also offers nonstop, low fare service to Cancun, Mexico; Denver, Colorado; Trenton, New Jersey; and Washington, D.C. Frontier began its unique brand of low-fare service from the Cincinnati market in May 2013.

Frontier Airlines:

Azul to fly to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood starting on December 1 and Orlando on December 15

Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras (Campinas-Viracopos) has filed with the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) for its approval for flights to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL) and Orlando (MCO). If approved, FLL service will start on December 1 and MCO service on December 15 with its new Airbus A330-200s.
