XL Airways France to operate to Los Angeles

XL Airways France (Paris-CDG) will operate summer seasonal flights from Paris (CDG) to Los Angeles next summer starting on June 1, 2016. Three weekly flights will be operated with Airbus A330-200s according to Airline Route.

Air Transat to offer winter service between Toronto and Paris via Montreal

Air Transat (Montreal) has announced itย fly from Toronto (Pearson) to Paris this winter thanks to the addition of new connecting flights to Montreal.

Air Transat will also be offering a new Montreal – Toronto route allowing passengers to leave from Montreal and board Toronto flights for London, Manchester or Glasgow as well as a new Calgary – Vancouver route allowing passengers to leave from Calgary and board a Vancouver – London flight.

The new flights between Toronto and Paris and Montreal and the United Kingdom (London , Manchester and Glasgow ) will operate from Sunday to Thursday inclusively effective in November 2015.

Connecting flights will also be offered for Malaga, Spain for passengers travelling from Toronto to Montreal effective January 2016 and for three destinations in Portugal ( Lisbon and Porto as of November 2015 and Faro as of January 2016 ) for passengers travelling from Montreal to Toronto , all destinations renowned for vacations under the sun.

Air Transat will also be offering a new Calgary – Vancouver route this winter effective December 2015 allowing passengers to leave from Calgary and board a Vancouver – London flight on Mondays.

Travellers who want to enjoy the Air Transat experience when flying domestically will also be able to take advantage of the new flights between Toronto and Montreal and Calgary and Vancouver which run during peak business travel hours.

Air France to introduce the Airbus A380 on the Paris (CDG) – Mexico City route

Air France (Paris) will introduce the Airbus A380 on the Paris (CDG) – Mexico City route on January 12, 2016 with three initial weekly frequencies. The A380 will replace existing Boeing 777-300 ER service. The route will be served daily with the A380 starting on March 26, 2016 per Airline Route.

Delta to extend the seasonal Boston-Paris (CDG) route to year-round service

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) will extend its seasonal daily nonstop service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Boston Logan International Airport to a year-round operation, beginning on October 25.

The route will be operated in conjunction with joint venture partner Air France (Paris) and will become Deltaโ€™s 10th U.S. gateway offered year-round from Paris. Delta will operate the service on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

AtlasGlobal to start Paris CDG service

AtlasGlobal Airlines (formerly Atlasjet Airlines) (Istanbul) will start daily Airbus A321 service between Istanbul (Ataturk) and Paris (CDG) starting on Friday (July 10) per Airline Route.

PIA to retire its last Boeing 747 “within a month”

PIA-Pakistan International Airlines (Karachi) is planning to retire its last Boeing 747 (ex-Cathay Pacific Boeing 747-367 AP-BFY, msn 23920) within a month according to a report by Business Recorder. The report quotes PIA Chairman Nasser Jaffer in a recent interview with BR Research.

AP-BFY is currently being used on the high-density Hajj charters to Saudi Arabia. The last Jumbo, soon out of time, will be replaced by two wet-leased Boeing 767s according to the report.

The retirement will end a long association with the Boeing 747 Jumbo. PIA introduced the Boeing 747-200B in 1976. The airline commenced Boeing 747-200B operations (below) with two leased TAP Air Portugal Boeing 747-282Bs on May 5, 1976 from Karachi and Islamabad to London (Heathrow) and New York (JFK).

Transavia France introduces its new Bostik adhesives logo jet

Transavia France (Paris) has issued this statement about its new Bostik Boeing 737-800 logo jet:

For the first time in France, a Boeing 737-800 from the fleet of Air France-KLM subsidiary, Transavia, features a unique livery and logo which will promote Bostik’s new branding and identity across Europe. This unique contract between two French companies with international ambitions and operations highlights the expertise of Bostik, a specialist in adhesives for aerospace applications.

According to the airline, “With a 250 square-meter airborne display of its new graphic identity, Bostik has people talking and has demonstrated that when it comes to performance, the sky’s the limit. The international manufacturer of adhesives for the industrial, construction and consumer markets unveiled the re-branded Boeing 737-800 airplane today during a press conference at Orly airport in advance of the aircraft’s inaugural flight.

Bostik and its parent company, Arkema, will use this high-profile Europe-wide campaign to promote their expertise in the adhesives and materials used by aircraft manufacturers which are designed to meet the industry’s exacting specifications.
Top-flight innovation from a leader in adhesives

As a partner to the aerospace industry since 1954, Bostik has developed numerous adhesive solutions designed specifically for aircraft applications. Although invisible to passengers, these high-technology products play a critical role in safety and comfort, helping to ease cabin vibration during take-off and landing and reducing noise throughout the flight. Gulf Air increases the number of flights to Frankfurt, Larnaca and Paris

Gulf Air (Bahrain) will increase the number of flights to and from Frankfurt, Larnaca and Paris (CDG) during the upcoming peak summer travel period until September 2015, due to growing passenger numbers.

This follows the airlineโ€™s recent announcement of its enhanced Istanbul summer schedule which now offers seven weekly flights during the summer period.

Gulf Air will operate eight weekly flights from Bahrain to both Frankfurt and Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport) and six weekly flights to Larnaca.

Gulf Airโ€™s European summer schedule further supplements the airlineโ€™s existing four weekly Athens service and double daily London Heathrow service.

TACV – Cabo Verde Airlines arrives at T.F. Green Airport in Providence

TACV โ€“ Cabo Verde Airlines (Praia, Cape Verde Islands) yesterday (June 3) began service to T.F. Green Airport (PVD) in Providence, Rhode Island. TACV is the official airline of Cabo Verde and offers twice weekly flights on Tuesdays and Thursday aboard 210-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft to the city of Praia on the island of Santiago. Connecting service is also available to the Cape Verdean islands of Fogo, Sao Vincente, Sal and Boa Vista.

TACV โ€“ Cabo Verde Airlines had previously served the Cape Verdean community with flights out of Boston Logan Airport. The Cape Verdean community has a strong presence throughout New England and in some areas communities are actually closer in proximity to Green Airport. The service has traditionally been geared towards linking family and friends; however, there is a new emphasis on growing it as a tourist destination by promoting the islandsโ€™ beauty, climate, hiking, surfing and other water sports. In the coming months, the airline hopes to add to its frequency and service offerings.

Later this month, Green Airport also welcomes a second international carrier- Condor Airlines with seasonal service to and from Frankfurt, Germany and connecting European destinations.
