SkyWest to operate five CRJ200s for AirTran Airways from Milwaukee

SkyWest Airlines (St. George) will operate five Bombardier CRJ200s for AirTran Airways from Milwaukee to six destinations starting on December 4. The code-share agreement will be operated in SkyWest’s house colors.

AirTran to start Milwaukee-Dallas/Fort Worth flights on April 6, 2010

AirTran Airways (Orlando and Atlanta) is adding more pressure on Midwest Airlines (or what is left of Midwest) with new MKE-Dallas/Fort Worth nonstop service starting on April 6, 2010.

Air New Zealand orders 14 more A320s to replace Boeing 737s

Air New Zealand (Auckland) has ordered 14 additional Airbus A320s to replace the final 15 Boeing 737-300s. The 737s will be retired in 2016 when the last A320 arrives.

Edelweiss to fly Zurich-Calgary-Vancouver for Swiss

Edelweiss Air (Zurich) will fly a weekly flight between the Zurich hub and Calgary and Vancouver for Swiss International Air Lines between May 31 and September 14, 2010.

Insel Air International (Curacao) acquired this ex-Alitalia (1st) McDonnell Douglas DC-9-82 (MD-82) now registered N431LF (msn 49194, ex I-DAWI). It was ferried to Curacao on October 19, 2009 and will be used for spare parts. The crew took the opportunity to apply some interesting hand-drawn titles such as “Scrapheap”, “Curacao or Bust” and the larger “Out of Africa”.
