Tunisair (Tunis) is planning to add twice-weekly service between Tunis and Montreal (Trudeau) per Airline Route. The airline has filed the request with no date given for the start of services, pending approvals. The new route will be operated with Airbus A300s.

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) is bringing its leased Boeing 717-200s to the U.S. West Coast on four routes. Los Angeles-Las Vegas, Los Angeles-Portland, Oregon, Salt Lake City-Kansas City and Salt Lake City-Las Vegas will be changed to Boeing 717-200 equipment starting on June 4 per Airline Route.
In other news, Delta is bringing back the Boeing 747-400 on the Atlanta-Honolulu route starting on May 1.

Air Transat (Montreal) (website) has announced it is adding a new destination, Budapest, Hungary, to its trans-Atlantic program for 2015, as well as increasing seats and frequencies on many of its European routes, including Paris, London, Barcelona, Athens, Lisbon, Marseille, Nantes, Rome and Venice.
The new route will be routed from Toronto (Pearson) to Montreal (Trudeau) and finally to Budapest with Airbus A330s from June 17 through October 8, 2015.
Besides service to secondary cities in France, the carrier is now offering twice-daily flights to Paris from Montreal and six a week from Toronto. Air Transat also remains the only airline offering direct flights to Paris from Quebec City, Calgary and Vancouver.
In addition, Air Transat announced a new connection between Halifax, Nova Scotia) to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador and finally to London (Gatwick), with two weekly Boeing 737-800 flights in the high season, in response to strong demand from travellers in the region. The route will be operated from June 17 through September 3, 2015.
Elsewhere in Canada, the carrier will increase flight frequencies on its London routes as well, offering 10 weekly departures from Toronto, two each from Montreal and Halifax, six from Vancouver, and three from Calgary.
Flights will also be added to Athens and Barcelona from Montreal and Toronto, and to Lisbon from Montreal.
In 2015, Air Transat will no longer offer flights to Germany from Western Canada, and will no longer fly to Turkey. Although the airline is eliminating service between Montreal and Istanbul, Air Transat will continue to market that destination, with land tours sold under the Transat Holidays and Transat Discoveries brands.

British Airways (London) today announced that from March 29, 2015, Montreal will be served by the airlineโs new Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, marking the first scheduled Dreamliner service between Montreal and London.
British Airways operates a daily service between the two cities and provides connections to more than 130 cities beyond London. The first Dreamliner received by British Airways made its inaugural flight to Toronto one year ago and last month Calgary became the second Canadian city to receive the most modern aircraft in the airlineโs new fleet.
Updated Cabins
The new aircraft accommodates 214 passengers: 35 in Club World (business class), 25 in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and 154 in World Traveller (economy). The three newly designed cabins feature high quality materials, comfortable seats and increased bag storage. Customers in British Airways Club World cabin can take advantage of wide, full-flat beds and Club Kitchen, a snack bar open throughout the flight.
The 787 also has the largest windows of any commercial airliner, offering customers views of the horizon from every seat. Instead of pull down blinds, each one has its own dimmer switch.
Enhanced Entertainment
British Airwaysโ 787 features the airlineโs new Thales entertainment system. Each seat has a television screen and customers can choose from more than 700 hours of content, including 230 TV programs, 70 movies and 400 music albums and interactive games. Travelers can also chat and play games with friends elsewhere on the aircraft using an in-seat chat system.

Air Canada (Montreal) announced today it will introduce year-round mainline service to Amsterdam from Toronto beginning in June 2015 as part of the continuing expansion of its international network. Additions to the summer network also include new Air Canada rouge (Toronto) seasonal service from Montreal to Venice and between Vancouver and Osaka.
Highlights of the 2015 summer schedule include:
Year-round Air Canada service between Toronto (Pearson) and Amsterdam operated with a 211-seat, Boeing 767-300 ER aircraft with 24 International Business Class pods, featuring fully lie-flat seats. Flights begin on June 4, 2015 and will be operated up to six times weekly.
Double-daily Air Canada service from both Toronto (Pearson) and Montreal (Trudeau) to Paris (Charles de Gaulle), the additional flights will be offered from June to September and be operated using Boeing 767-300 ER aircraft with 24 International Business Class pods featuring fully lie-flat seats.
New nonstop Air Canada services from Toronto (Pearson) to Rio de Janeiro and from Toronto (Pearson) to Panama City introduced for winter 2014-15 will continue to operate during the summer of 2015
New Air Canada rouge twice weekly service between Montreal (Trudeau) and Venice beginning on May 14, 2015, and, subject to government approval, up to five flights per week between Vancouver and Osaka (Kansai) beginning on May 1, 2015
Air Canada rouge service from Toronto (Pearson) to Athens and Barcelona will increase to daily from five times a week in summer 2014, and service from Toronto (Pearson) to Venice increases to four times from three weekly. From Montreal (Trudeau), Air Canada rouge service to Athens will double to four times weekly and service to Barcelona will increase to three-times weekly from twice weekly in summer 2014. Overall, Air Canada rouge service to Athens, Barcelona, Lisbon, Manchester and Nice will operate a longer season during the summer of 2015 over summer 2014
Air Canada rouge will begin operating year-round service between Toronto (Pearson) and Lima, Peru beginning on May 2, 2015, subject to government approval, following the transfer of the route from Air Canada.

Air Canada (Montreal) is following the actions of WestJet (Calgary) and will now charge for the first checked bag on domestic flights flying on Economy Class Tango fare. The airline issued this statement:
Air Canada said today that it has adjusted its first checked bag policy for North American travel to align it with prevailing North American industry practices. The carrier’s fee for a first checked bag on U.S. transborder routes, in place since 2011, remains unchanged.
Starting September 18, 2014, customers purchasing Air Canada’s lowest Economy Class Tango fare for travel on or after November 2, 2014 on domestic flights within Canada and to and from the Caribbean and Mexico will now be charged $25 for a first checked bag, in line with the baggage allowance policies of other North American carriers. This change is expected to affect an estimated one in five Air Canada passengers on domestic flights within Canada, representing approximately five per cent of the airline’s customers system-wide.
The fee for a first checked bag does not apply to Economy Class tickets purchased using Flex and Latitude fares that offer additional flexibility. In addition, the first checked bag fee does not apply to Altitude Prestige, Elite and Super Elite members, Star Alliance Silver and Gold members and customers purchasing Air Canada Vacations packages. Business Class customers continue to receive an allowance of two checked bags, and military personnel (with identification) up to three checked bags, regardless of destination. Air Canada’s baggage allowance policy continues to allow for a car seat and stroller to be checked as additional pieces of baggage free of charge.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft (Montreal and Toronto) has confirmed that the CSeries aircraft resumed flight testing with flight test vehicle two (FTV2) taking flight today at Bombardier’s facility in Mirabel, Quรฉbec.
The flight on September 7 follows an in-depth review and analysis of the engine-related incident that occurred during stationary ground maintenance testing involving CSeries aircraft FTV1 on May 29, 2014 at the Mirabel facility. Pratt and Whitney alongside Bombardier, has taken appropriate measures to address the issue, including the modification of the engine’s oil lubrication system.
The CSeries aircraft’s entry-into-service remains on track for the second half of 2015.

Air Canada (Montreal) will revert to mainline service on the Toronto (Pearson)-Sarasota/Bradenton route on November 1 from rouge service. The route will initially operate twice weekly with Airbus A319s/A320s until December 13 when it becomes daily for the winter season per Airline Route.
Additionally Air Canada is starting weekly seasonal Ottawa-Samana, Dominican Republic ย flights with Embraer 190s on December 22.
Air Canada will also start weekly seasonal Embraer 190 service from Montreal (Trudeau) to San Salvador in the Bahamas on November 1.

Bombardier Aerospace (Montreal) has announced that Falko Regional Aircraft Limited (Falko) has signed two Letters of Intent (LOIs) in relation to the purchase of up to 24 firm Bombardier CS100 mainline jets.
Falko has recently placed Bombardier CRJ900 and CRJ900 NextGen aircraft with long-time Bombardier customers Mesa Airlines Inc. and Adria Airways, and has also acquired Q400 aircraft on lease to Croatia Airlines.
