Etihad Airways adds summer flights to Nice

Etihad Airways has announced a new European destination this summer with the introduction of flights to the French city of Nice from June 15, 2022.

The twice-weekly service will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays between Abu Dhabi and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport on a modern Boeing 787 aircraft, one of the most fuel efficient aircraft in the world.

Nice is the fifth summer route to be announced by Etihad Airways for 2022 after Crete, Malaga, Santorini and Zanzibar, all set to to launch in mid-June.

Air France to resume services to Freetown, Sierra Leone

Air France (Paris) on June 30, 2015, is resuming services to Freetown with three weekly frequencies from Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

Flights will be operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 208 seats: 40 in the Business cabin, 21 in Premium Economy and 147 in Economy.

In other news, Air France will close its Toulouse, Nice and Marseille pilot bases by October which will result in the reassignment of approximately 200 pilots to Paris according a report by Midi-Pyrenees.

VLM expands again with new routes, from Ireland to Italy

VLM Airlines (Antwerp) is expanding again. As previously reported, the carrier will start Rotterdam-Hamburg flights on April 13 and Antwerp-Hamburg service on April 20.

This will now be followed on April 27 with new routes from Birmingham and London (Luton) to Waterford, Ireland.

Starting on May 1 the newly revitalized airline will add four new routes from Liege, namely to Avignon, Bologna, Nice and Venice.

Norwegian announces three new routes

Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian.com) (Oslo) has announced new weekly nonstop flights between Stockholm (Arlanda) and Bastia in Corsica starting on April 25. Additionally the airline will launch new twice-weekly nonstop flights between Madrid and Nice starting on March 29 as well as weekly flights between London (Gatwick) and Kefalonia in Greece on April 18.

Delta to restore seasonal service to Nice on March 29, 2015

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) will once again be offering nonstop daily flights between Nice’s Cote d’Azur Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport for the 2015 summer season.

Flights will begin five times a week on March 29, 2015, increasing to a daily service from May 2, 2015. Delta has scheduled a Boeing 767-400 aircraft with 245 seats on the route, which is operated in conjunction with joint venture partner Air France-KLM.
