Azul launches a new route from Belo Horizonte to Orlando

Azul Brazilian Airlines, Brazilโ€™s largest airline by cities served, yesterday (November 16) added a new daily flight from Orlando International to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, the first-ever nonstop flight on the route. Belo Horizonte is Azulโ€™s second hub destination, where Orlando travelers will be able to connect to more than 100 destinations. The company also operates daily flights from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and Orlando to Sรฃo Paulo. Azul Cargo services are available in all international flights.

The new daily service will depart Orlando (MCO) at 6 pm (1800), arriving in Belo Horizonte at 5:32 am (0532) the following morning. The return flight will depart Belo Horizonte at 10:18 am (1018), arriving at MCO at 4:15 pm (1615).

JetBlue launches flights to Mexico City

JetBlue Airways (New York) yesterday (October 1) launched two new routes with daily service to its newest destination, Mexico City International Airport (MEX) from Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). As Mexico’s capital and one of the largest markets in the Americas, Mexico City marks JetBlue’s 91st destination in its global network and 35th destination in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

JetBlue continues to grow its footprint in Latin America and the Caribbean. The airline now offers up to 142 daily flights from the U.S. to Latin America and the Caribbean, of which up to 49 daily flights are nonstop from Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Orlando International Airport. On November 7, JetBlue will launch service to Antigua and in February 2016, the airline will launch services between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Quito.

Frontier Airlines to start Detroit – Orlando service

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) will start daily Detroit-Orlando flights starting on November 18.

Azul to start the Sao Paulo Guarulhos – Orlando route

Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras (Campinas-Viracopos) is adding another route to Orlando. The carrier will launch a new daily route connecting Sao Paulo (Guarulhos) and Orlando starting on December 15.

This is in addition to the Belo Horizonte – Orlando route due to start on November 16.

Frontier Airlines to introduce the Airbus A321 on November 1

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) is planning to introduce the new Airbus A321-200 on November 1 on the Orlando – Philadelphia route with two daily roundtrips per Airline Route.

The Orlando – Cleveland route will be added on November 4.

Frontier has 19 A321s on order.

Frontier announces new routes from Orlando and Las Vegas

Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) is adding new routes from the two biggest leisure markets in the United States, Orlando and Las Vegas.

Today the carrier announced two new routes from Orlando to both Indianapolis and Los Angeles.

From Las Vegas, the ultra low-fare carrier is adding four new routes to Houston (Bush Intercontinental), Miami, Milwaukee and San Francisco.

Additionally, the airline will start new service from Philadelphia to both Fort Myers and Montego Bay.

The new routes begin on October 25.

The company issued this statement on the new service:

Frontier Airlines will add new nonstop service in leisure markets across its network with the addition of new flights in eight cities throughout the United States and Caribbean. This new service begins October 25.

Four new cities from Las Vegas

Frontier will add four daily nonstop flights between Las Vegas and Miami, Milwaukee, Houston and San Francisco. These flights will operate daily on Frontier’s fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft. The addition of the four new cities brings Frontier’s nonstop destinations from Las Vegas to 13. Currently, Frontier serves Atlanta; Austin Texas; Chicago O’Hare; Cleveland; Cincinnati; Denver; Orlando; St. Louis and Washington — Dulles from Las Vegas.

Four new markets in Florida and the Caribbean

Frontier also will add new service between Orlando and Indianapolis and Los Angeles as well as adding new service between Philadelphia and vacation destinations, Fort Myers and Montego Bay. From Orlando the number of nonstop Frontier destinations will increase to 12, more than doubling its level of service in the past year.

WestJet announces new winter routes to Florida, Mexico and Costa Rica, WestJet Encore to fly to Boston

WestJet (Calgary) hasย announced it is launching new nonstop service to Florida, Mexico and Costa Rica, as well as adding more than 85 flights across its growing domestic and international network as part of its winter 2015-2016 flight schedule. WestJet’s regional airline, WestJet Encoreย (Calgary), will also begin service three times a day to Boston, its first U.S. destination.

WestJet will launch new nonstop service between Toronto (Pearson) and West Palm Beach and Toronto (Pearson) and Sarasota/Bradenton, as well as between Toronto (Pearson) and Boston and Halifax and Boston.

The airline will also introduce new service to Mexico between Toronto (Pearson) and Huatulco, Toronto (Pearson) and Merida, and Toronto (Pearson) and Cabo San Lucas, as well as additional service to Costa Rica between Toronto (Pearson) and San Jose (SJO). WestJet already serves Liberia.

Guests flying from the Region of Waterloo International Airport and Charlottetown Airport will see new weekly nonstop flights to Orlando.

WestJet is also increasing service from a number of destinations within Central and Eastern Canada including Toronto (Pearson), Halifax, St. John’s, Deer Lake and Charlottetown, as well as from Toronto (Pearson) to Liberia, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Plata and Punta Cana.

The airline will also add new nonstop flights between Calgary and Florida, Costa Rica and Mexico, and between Vancouver and Orlando.

Emirates to inaugurate the Orlando route with a one-time Airbus A380 flight

Emirates (Dubai) has decided to enter the Orlando market with a big impression. The fast-growing airline has decided to substitute the larger Airbus A380 for the regular Boeing 777-200 LR on the inaugural flight scheduled for September 1 according to Airline Route.

Southwest Airlines increases its Florida flights with the new early 2016 schedule

Southwest Airlines (Dallas)ย is giving its customers a first look at its early 2016 flight schedule by extending it from January 6 through March 8, 2016.

 

The schedule extension brings new seasonal nonstop service, including once-daily flights connecting Phoenix with Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood, and Grand Rapids with Tampa.

For the first time, the carrier will offer new daily seasonal service between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers and Nashville, as well as new Saturday-only seasonal service between RSW and four cities: Buffalo, Dallas Love Field, Providence, and Washington (Reagan National). Daily seasonal nonstop service between Grand Rapids and Fort Myers also returns with this schedule release.

Southwest is offering seasonal Saturday-only nonstop service connecting Orlando with Omaha, Detroit and Orlando, as well as Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood with Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Surinam Airways is coming to Sanford, Florida

Surinam Airways (Paramaribo) is planning to offer summer seasonal service to Sanford, Florida (near Orlando) from July 2 through September 25. The one-stop service (stopping in Georgetown) will be operated weekly with Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
