LAN Peru and TAM Airlines add new routes from Orlando

The LATAM Airlines Group (Santiago) issued this statement:

Committed to strengthening connectivity internationally and connecting the U.S. to South America, LATAM Airlines Group affiliate LAN Peru and TAM Airlines are inaugurating brand new routes from Orlando International Airport (MCO) this month to Brazil and Peru, respectively.

TAM Airlines (TAM Linhas Aereas) (Sao Paulo) is kicking off a new service to Brasilia International Airport from Orlando International Airport today ( June 12, 2015). TAM also currently serves Sao Paulo from Orlando with 14 weekly flights.

Additionally, LAN Peru will offer the first-ever daily nonstop flights between Orlando International Airport and Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru, starting on June 20, 2015.

TAM Airlines: Orlando to Brasilia

Brasilia serves as a hub for TAM’s domestic operations. This increase in international flights to Brazil’s capital, Brasilia, directly benefits passengers departing from the U.S., providing convenient access to over 40 Brazilian destinations, specifically connecting the U.S. to Northern Brazil.

The new route will fly daily from Orlando (flight JJ8049) at 10:30 p.m. (local time) and arrive in Brasília at 7:19 a.m. the following day (local time). The return flight will depart daily from Brasília (flight JJ8048) at 11:22 a.m. (local time) and arrive in Orlando at 6:30 p.m. (local time).

TAM Airlines will operate the route from MCO using Boeing 767-300 ER aircraft (above). The aircraft is configured with 191 seats in Economy class and 30 in Premium Business class, featuring seats that recline up to 180 degrees full flat.

LAN Airlines (LAN Peru): Orlando to Lima Route

Orlando is LAN Airlines’ fourth gateway in the U.S., joining New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Earlier this year, LAN Peru added two additional flights per week from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Lima. The airline expects to transport more than 80,000 passengers each year from South America to Orlando via Lima.

LAN Peru will operate the route on an Airbus A319 aircraft, which seats 126 passengers in Economy class.

Delta to add two new routes from Orlando

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) is adding two new routes from Orlando in December. The airline will add the Orlando – Sao Paulo (Guarulhos) four days a week route starting on December 19 per Airline Route. This new international route will be served with Boeing 767-300 ERs.

Delta is also adding a daily feeder route from and to Miami with McDonnell Douglas MD-88s. The flights will be timed to feed both ends of the new Sao Paulo route.

As previously announced, Delta is also adding the daily Orlando – Seattle/Tacoma route on December 19.

In other news, Delta is also adding the Los Angeles – Tucson route on December 19.

Delta confirms its four new destinations and expansion plans for Seattle/Tacoma

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) has confirmed it is adding service from its hub at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Boston; Orlando; Pasco, Washington; and Victoria, British Columbia. Victoria is a new destination in Delta’s network and is subject to foreign government approval. Delta will also expand its existing Bozeman, Montana, service from Seattle/Tacoma.

The new service includes:

One daily year-round flight to Boston’s Logan International Airport beginning April 4, 2016.
One daily year-round flight to Orlando International Airport beginning December 19, 2015.
Three daily year-round flights to Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco beginning November 1, 2015.
Three daily year-round flights to Victoria International Airport beginning April 4, 2016.
One daily year-round flight to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport beginning August 1, 2015, expanded from Saturday-only seasonal service.
Flights to Boston and Orlando will operate using Boeing 737-800 and 757-200 aircraft, respectively. Bozeman, Pasco and Victoria service will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines using two-class, 65-seat Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets.

The new service is part of Delta’s previously announced plans for 2 percent system capacity growth for 2015.

Boston and Orlando service will connect Seattle/Tacoma with the third and fifth largest markets on the East Coast. Boston service will also provide customers one-stop access through Seattle/Tacoma to the top five destinations in Asia.

By August, the airline will operate 128 flights to 36 destinations from its West Coast hub.

Earlier this month, Delta celebrated the start of service from Seattle/Tacoma to Boise; Sacramento; Sitka, Alaska; and Ketchikan, Alaska along with the expansion of service to Fairbanks and Juneau, Alaska. Service to Denver begins on June 4, and service to Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii begins in December. Delta will also expand service to Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in October along with Palm Springs, Calif.; and Tucson, Ariz., in December.

During the summer, Delta offers 10 long-haul international flights from Seattle/Tacoma, providing as much long-haul international service from Seattle/Tacoma as all other airlines combined. This includes the top five destinations in Asia and three of the top four destinations in Europe. Delta is the only carrier to offer nonstop service from Seattle/Tacoma to Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Paris, Shanghai and Tokyo-Haneda.

Locally, Delta recently opened a 7,000-square-foot corporate office just outside Seattle in downtown Bellevue. The airline has also invested $15 million in its facilities at Sea-Tac, including its Delta Sky Club and lobby renovations, Sky Priority services, new gate area power recharging stations, expanded ticket counters and enhancements to the international arrivals area. Delta people are active members of the Seattle community, working to serve their neighbors both in and out of the airport.

Southwest announces a new route from Washington Reagan National to Orlando

Southwest Airlines (Dallas) has announced new nonstop service from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to Orlando, Florida beginning on November 1. Orlando will be Southwest’s third Florida destination from DCA, where it is the second largest carrier as measured by passengers carried. Southwest will now offer flights to 17 nonstop destinations from this convenient downtown airport.

Southwest Airlines operates more than 260 daily nonstop flights from its three Washington, D.C. area airports. Since July of last year, the airline has added seven new international destinations from Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport, and new nonstop service from Washington, D.C. (Reagan National) to Chicago (Midway), Columbus, Dallas Love Field, Indianapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood beginning on August 9, and Orlando starting in November 2015. In addition, the carrier’s long-haul offerings from Washington Dulles have grown in the past year to add both Las Vegas, and San Diego as nonstop routes.

Also on Nov. 1, Southwest will continue its commitment to the Sunshine State by increasing the number of daily flights to twice daily service between Austin, Texas, and Ft. Lauderdale.

In Austin, the carrier continues adding new destinations including already announced nonstop service starting June 28, 2015 to Santa Ana/Orange County and St. Louis. In addition to the increased number of flights serving Customers traveling to and from Ft. Lauderdale, the carrier will add nonstop service this November to Boston (Logan), Seattle/Tacoma, and will add an additional nonstop flight to the New York area (via Newark.) The carrier began serving Austin in 1977 with six daily flights, and by the end of 2015 it will operate more than 60 departures a day to nearly 30 destinations across the United States and Mexico.

This week, Southwest also renewed its commitment to the Greater Orlando Aviation Administration by investing $9.5 million in a renovation and expansion of the airline’s Maintenance Hangar and Parts Stores Facility. Additionally, the carrier is also committed to bringing more international travel options to Florida travelers with a new international terminal located at the Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. With scheduled completion in 2017, the terminal will have five gates, a new security checkpoint, and new concessions for travelers.

Southwest Airlines proudly serves eight Florida airports: Ft. Lauderdale (FLL), Ft. Myers (RSW), Jacksonville (JAX), Orlando (MCO), Tampa Bay (TPA), Panama City Beach (ECP), Pensacola (PNS), and West Palm Beach (PBI).

Delta files to fly from Orlando to Sao Paulo, Brazil

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) has filed for regulatory approval to offer new nonstop flights between Orlando, Florida, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, beginning December 19, 2015. Delta expects to serve the two cities with four (4) weekly flights. The airline’s strategic alliance with Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes (Sao Paulo) extends the reach of this service to 20 interior Brazil destinations and provides seamless connections at Guarulhos International Airport.

The proposed service would be operated using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft, with 35 seats in Delta One, 32 seats in Delta Comfort+ and 143 seats in the Main Cabin.

JetBlue to launch new service to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood from Baltimore/Washington and Philadelphia, will also expand to Mexico City

JetBlue Airways (New York) has announced plans for two new routes that will grow its presence in the Baltimore-Washington and Philadelphia metropolitan areas and continue its expansion in its focus cities in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood.

Beginning November 12, JetBlue will operate new once daily service between Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) — the same day JetBlue launches previously announced service between Baltimore/Washington and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood. Within the National Capital Region, JetBlue also operates flights out of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

Beginning November 19, JetBlue will operate twice daily service between Philadelphia (PHL) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL). Philadelphia is one of the largest markets JetBlue currently does not serve from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and will play a part in its growth towards 100 daily flights to meet increasing customer demand in South Florida.

JetBlue will serve both routes with its Airbus A320 aircraft.

JetBlue also announced plans to begin flying to Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport, one of the largest markets in the Americas. Mexico City will be JetBlue’s second destination in Mexico and its 35th in the Latin America and Caribbean region, where JetBlue continues to expand its presence as a leading U.S. airline.

Daily service to Mexico City International Airport (MEX) will launch on October 1 from JetBlue’s two focus cities in Florida, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Service from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and Orlando to Mexico City will operate in the evening, with flights back to the U.S. from Mexico City offered in the early morning.

JetBlue will serve both routes with its Airbus A320 aircraft.

JetBlue continues to grow its footprint in Latin America and the Caribbean. The airline recently announced plans to serve Quito, Antigua, and Grenada, and to offer its successful Mint experience from New York to Aruba and Barbados on Saturdays between November 7, 2015 and April 30, 2016, and daily between December 19, 2015 and January 4, 2016.

Azul to debut nonstop Belo Horizonte – Orlando flights

Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras (Azul Brazilian Airlines) (Sao Paulo-Campinas) is expanding its service between the U.S. and Brazil, with a new route to Belo Horizonte, the first-ever nonstop flight on the route, starting on November 16, 2015.

Belo Horizonte is Azul’s second hub destination, where Orlando travelers will be able to connect to more than 80 Azul flights daily, to more than 30 destinations.

Starting November 16 through December 13, the new flight will operate five days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays), departing Orlando (MCO) at 8:15 pm, arriving in Belo Horizonte at 7:35 am the next morning. The return flight will operate the same days, departing Belo Horizonte at 12:30 pm, arriving at MCO at 5:50 pm. From December 14, the new service will operate daily on the same schedule.

Azul began service from Orlando International Airport in December last year with daily nonstop service to Sao Paulo (Campinas), the airline’s main hub. Between July 1 and August 9, Azul also will add an additional three weekly flights for a total of 10 roundtrips per week from Orlando. Azul also plans to add three additional weekly roundtrip on a regular basis between Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood to Sao Paulo (Campinas) to its daily nonstop service staring on July 1.

Delta to start Seattle/Tacoma – Orlando nonstop flights

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) continues to add more nonstop routes from its building Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) hub in competition with its codeshare partner Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma). Delta will commence nonstop SeaTac – Orlando Boeing 737-800 flights starting on December 19. Alaska already operates on the route.

Emirates SkyCargo is coming to Orlando

Emirates SkyCargo (Dubai), the freight division of Emirates (Dubai), is set to expand its United States cargo network to 11 destinations, when the airline launches a daily service to Orlando, Florida from September 1, 2015.

The Dubai – Orlando route will be served by a Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft, which has a belly-hold capacity of up to 17 tons of cargo per flight. Emirates SkyCargo also has belly-hold cargo services to San Francisco, Seattle/Tacoma, Washington D.C., Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, New York (JFK), Los Angeles, Chicago (O’Hare) and Houston (Bush Intercontinental), with the latter four cities also forming part of the air cargo carrier’s United States freighter network, along with Atlanta.

Emirates flight EK 219 will depart Dubai International Airport at 0350hrs local time and arrive at Orlando International Airport Terminal at 1140hrs local time. The return flight, EK 220 will depart Orlando International at 1420hrs and arrive into Dubai at 1230hrs the following day.

JetBlue announces the start date for flights from Albany, NY to Florida

JetBlue Airways (New York) has announced the start of service at Albany International Airport (ALB). The airline will operate daily service to its focus cities of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) starting on December 10, 2015.

With the addition of Albany, JetBlue will offer service to eight airports in New York State. JetBlue’s Schedule From Albany as of December 10, 2015:
